discussion
REMARKS The lectotype, collected in 985 m in the northern part of Bay of Biscay, was figured by Bouchet & Warén (1986: 520). This species was so far only known from the type locality and from the Azores. It is easily distinguished from E. pseudonanum Bouchet & Warén, 1986, which also occurs around the Canaries but in shallower water, by its definite umbilicus, the finer and more flexuous ribs and the absence of spiral grooves between these. New to Spanish waters.
