discussion
Notes Specimens of Drepananthus collected from Vanikoro Island in the Santa Cruz group have far broader petals than the material from the Melanesian part of the Solomon Islands. Surveswaran et al. (2010) reduced the four species of Cyathocalyx described by Smith from Fiji to Drepananthus vitiensis. The limited amount of material available from Vanikoro seems to fall within the variability exhibited by the Fijian taxon, so we refer the collections to that species.
