description
Spotted Snailfish. To about 12.7 cm (5 in) TL (Hart 1973). Kuril Islands (Chernova and Nazarkin 2016), south-eastern Kamchatka, and Commander Islands (Sheiko and Fedorov 2000) to Gulf of Anadyr, Bering Sea (Love et al. 2005); Saint Lawrence Island and Norton Sound, eastern Bering Sea to Aleutian Islands (Mecklenburg et al. 2002) to Oregon (Eschmeyer and Herald 1983). Benthic; depth: intertidal to 49 m (162 ft) (min.: Eschmeyer and Herald 1983; max.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California).
