The cell wall mainly consists of fatty acids such as saturated forms with carbon number 14 – 16, unsaturated forms with carbon number 16 – 18 and hydroxyl form with carbon number 14. The sole respiratory quinone is Q- 10. The DNA G + C content is around 52 mol %. The type species is Paremcibacter congregatus.
