description
Description of Streptomyces spinoverrucosus MMS 20 - HV 2 - 26 Cells are Gram-stain-positive and filamentous. Colonies are filamentous, raised, undulate and white colored after incubation for 3 days on ISP 2 at 30 ℃. Positive for nitrate reduction, glucose fermentation, urease, esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, β-galactosidase and cytochrome oxidase; but negative for indole production and arginine dihydrolase. D-Glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N - acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, malic acid and trisodium citrate are utilized as sole carbon sources; but not capric acid, adipic acid and phenylacetic acid. Strain MMS 20 - HV 2 - 26 (= NIBRBAC 0005 06170) was isolated from a soil sample from Okcheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. The GenBank accession number for the 16 S rRNA gene sequence of strain MMS 20 - HV 2 - 26 is MW 159348.
