description
Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and palisades shaped. Colonies are circular and yellow colored after 3 days on R 2 A at 25 ° C. Positive for esculin hydrolysis and β - galactosidase in API 20 NE, but negative for arginine dihydrolase, gelatinase, glucose fermentation, indole production, nitrate reduction and urease. Utilize N - acetyl-glucosamine, L-arabinose, D-glucose, D-maltose, D-mannitol, D-mannose and potassium gluconate, but not utilize adipic acid, capric acid, malic acid, phenylacetic acid and trisodium citrate. Strain KHH 20 (= NIBRBAC 000497852) has been isolated from Gut of Japanese crested ibis (Nipponia nippon), Gyeonggi Province, Korea.
