description
Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and coccoid-shaped. Colonies are circular, entire, convex and light yellow-colored after 3 days on MA at 25 ° C. Negative for arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis, β - galactosidase, gelatinase, glucose fermentation, indole production, nitrate reduction and urease in API 20 NE. D-Glucose, malic acid, D-maltose and potassium gluconate are utilized. Does not utilize N - acetyl-glucosamine, adipic acid, L-arabinose, capric acid, D-mannitol, Dmannose, phenylacetic acid and trisodium citrate. Strain KYW 950 (= NIBRBAC 000497927) has been isolated from a sea water sample, Gwangyang Bay, Gwangyang, Jeonnam Province, Korea.
