description
Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, entire, rough, raised and yellow colored after 3 days on MA at 30 ° C. Positive for esculin hydrolysis, β - galactosidase and gelatinase in API 20 NE, but negative for arginine dihydrolase, glucose fermentation, indole production, nitrate reduction and urease. Utilize N - acetyl-glucosamine, adipic acid, L-arabinose, D-glucose, malic acid, D-maltose, D-mannitol, D-mannose, phenylacetic acid, potassium gluconate and trisodium citrate, but not utilize capric acid. Strain MGS 3 Y- 3 - 4 (= NIBRBA 0000114270) has been isolated from Ginseng cultivated soil, Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, Korea.
