Positive for nitrate reduction, glucose fermentation, esculin hydrolysis and β - galactosidase, but negative for indole production, arginine dihydrolase, urease and gelatin hydrolysis in API 20 NE. D-Glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, Nacetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate and malic acid are utilized as sole carbon sources, but not capric acid, adipic acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid.
